Indonesia Battles Huge Landfill Blaze as Thick Smoke Chokes Communities
There is an extremely huge fire that has been burning for eight days and has now spread across the Jatiwaringin landfill located around the city of Jakarta, which is the capital city of Indonesia. The fire has affected a total land area of more than 15 hectares. This has led to the formation of a huge cloud of smoke in the surrounding areas that has resulted in many people seeking refuge in temporary shelters and also suffering from respiratory issues. The rescue workers are working hard on putting out the huge burning piles of garbage with the help of helicopters, water tankers, and even drones in the hope of having the fire completely put out by the end of the week.
